Alzheimer Community Care, Teal Runway Luncheon
Our Executive Director of Community Relations, Ellen Peitz was thrilled to be a part of the 2015 Alzheimer's Community Care Teal Runway Luncheon held on February 19th at the Four Seasons Report and Spa.

College of Nursing Blossoming in Haiti
Debbie Irvine, President of Family Private Care, Inc. had the honor of presenting the morning devotions for the nursing class of the La Gonave Wesleyan Hospital in Anse-a-Galets, La Gonave, Haiti. This class is the very first student body for the College of Nursing. Many of these students are children who have been sponsored through Compassion International. Talk about making a difference...start with one child at a time!

October 25th South Florida Honor Flight
Two of our staff members, Denise Dublin and Andrew Halstead, along with two WWII veterans, participated in the October 25th South Florida Honor Flight.
Jane and Bill Lewis, who both served in the military (Jane was in the Army and Bill was in the Air Force), met at the veterans affair in Washington DC and have been married for 60 years.

October 9th Event at the Port St. Lucie Nursing & Restorative Care Center
On October 9, Family Private Care attended an event at the Port St. Lucie Nursing & Restorative Care Center. The topic of discussion was, "Non-Surgical Treatments for Spine and Shoulder Pain" presented by Joseph M. Wierzbicki, MD of Florida Orthopedic Specialists.

Cyndi Jennings and Ira Berke from Family Private Care visit Delaire Country Club in Delray Beach for the 18th Annual Crohn's and Colitis Foundation (CCFA) Golf Classic.

Mission Trip to Costa Rica
Gary Uber, co-founder of Family Private Care, recently lead a mission trip to Costa Rica. Gary was joined by friends Tom Cox, Nancy Franklin, James Groves and Denise Dublin, Director of Operations for Family Private Care. The group stayed in San Jose in a mission run by American missionary Steve Gilroy.
The group worked to put an addition on a small one-room home so that the family won't have to sleep on the wooden floor anymore. The family of five were grateful and happy.

Family Private Care to Brighten Kids' Holidays
Family Private Care is the presenting sponsor for the 7th Annual Festival of Trees held by Tykes and Teens on November 17-22 in Stuart.
In a recent article, Ellen Peitz, Executive Director of Community Relations stated, "It is a privilege to sponsor this event for the second year. Family Private Care Joins Kane Center 'Meals on Wheels' Program This Summer
During the summer months, our friends at the Kane Center Meals on Wheels program serving Martin County Senior Citizens loses some of its faithful volunteers. The team at Family Private Care stepped up to take a "route" in Stuart, delivering meals on Wednesdays throughout the summer.

Celebrating Memorial Day in Washington DC with WWII Veterans
Ellen Peitz, WWII Coast Guard Veteran "Ad" Mumford, and Denise Dublin celebrated Memorial Day in Washington DC on Saturday, May 24. Ad was being honored as one of 85 WWII Veterans visiting the WWII Memorial with the South Florida Honor Flight. Ellen and Denise were Guardians, and Denise serves on the board of directors for the South Florida Honor Flight.

The Undeclared War: Special Operations in the 21st Century
Eric T. Olson, retired United States Navy admiral, was the speaker for this IRSC Lifelong Learning Lecture, sponsored by Family Private Care. The topic of discussion was “The Undeclared War: Special Operations in the 21st Century.”
Admiral Olson served as the eighth Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) from 2007 to 2011. He previously served as Deputy Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command from 2003 to July 2007. Olson was the first Navy SEAL ever to be appointed to three-star and four-star flag rank, as well as the first naval officer to be USSOCOM’s combatant commander.
